SEEING YOUR PCP
Children's Mercy Family Health Partners works to help you decide when to go to the Emergency Room (ER) or go to your Primary Care Provider (PCP). Using the ER when it is not needed can mean that you and your kids do not get a check-up and your kids do not get tested for lead. It costs more money to get care at the ER. We now have a Case Manager who spends time each day telling members about only using the ER in an emergency. The Case Manager also helps the members pick a PCP and get a ride to appointments. We want our members to only use the ER in an emergency. We also want our members to know their PCP who can make sure they get the care they need.
